What we do

Technological Development and Atlantic Technological Sovereignty

Investments in Cloud, 5G and 6G need to be part of not so much a European as an Atlantic project.

Energy and energy sovereignty

The Ukrainian crisis has highlighted the European Union’s energy supply problems. This unfortunate system is reflected in the sixth packet of sanctions.

Reinforcing the Southern Flank of NATO

The current crises are making reinforcement of NATO’s southern flank even more advisable. Such a statement might certainly seem bizarre.

Defence Industry

Common defence will be an important pillar of Italy’s future. Whilst being a part of the European Union, Italy can and must again have a dialogue and direct partnership with the USA.

The legislative aspects, digitalization, energy and defence

Paradoxically, the existing deluge of standards in Italy has not freed our country of gaps, delays and obsolescence.

EU common defense and Mediterranean balances

Beyond the individual military missions and the formalities between departments, it is clear that the numerous flags placed in the Sahel.

The Project

A channel with
the USA and the Anglo-Saxon world

Melkart aims to become a meeting place of the conservative world that talks about Italy and provides growth strategies and objectives for Italy within an Atlanticist framework. Melkart aims to have a dialogue with countries like the United States but also the UK and Israel. Without forgetting the fundamental role of our peninsula inside the Mediterranean, providing triangulation opportunities between Brussels and the Balkans, but also industrial and technological opportunities in Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia. Today, Italy hosts very few associations or foundations with a conservative orientation. They are all linked to individual parties of the centre right. And this is an enormous problem for three reasons. 1) There is no platform for dialogue with conservatives in the US or the world apart from supporting a single party or candidate (normally in our opinion in a utilitarian manner and with a very short-term vision). 2) Because of points 1) and 2), the many think tanks, which are in fact pseudo think tanks, are unable to develop long-term and very long-term strategies and above all start up a dialogue with the democratic or left part of the political spectrum in Italy. In Italy, for the first time since tangentopoli (the political corruption scandals of the early 1990s), it has become necessary to promote concept of strategies shared between the conservative world and the social democratic world to build unshakeable pillars and prevent each government changing alliances, projects and objectives, thereby jeopardizing stability and national security.
